"As the Persian poet says: "Man's life is brief and transitory, Literature endures forever.'"
Places and Words are intrinsically linked with each other. The popular imagination of a place is usually shaped by the stories told about it. A place might take centre stage in a book or provide the backdrop to a story. It therefore always plays an important part of the narrative. Because stories travel, bookshelves have the ability to take the reader around the world.
This Photo-Travel-Book blog attempts to do exactly this. Where possible, it connects a place I visited with a something I read and the photos try to create a visual link between the two. They are not professional photos as it is a hobby.
There are many places I would like to see and many books I still want to read. I look forward to comments and some new ideas for this blog. If you have any suggestions please feel free to share them with me.
My favourite author is Chinghiz Aitmatov – I would like to visit Kyrgyzstan one day.
